Joanna has a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology and she has been practicing psychology since 2015. She has worked with the Tasmanian Department of Education, The Persistent Pain Service at the Royal Hobart Hospital and various private practice settings in both Melbourne, Hobart, and Busselton. Joanna has previously worked in a child and family centre working with women with during the pre and postnatal period as well as a family trauma service. Joanna is a member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association.

Joanna conducts assessments for workers compensation claims and prepares medico-legal reports. Joanna accepts referrals from GPs and specialists, insurance companies, and Employee Assistance Programs.

Interest Areas

Joanna works with a broad range of psychological issues including anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders/stress, parenting support, and trauma-related issues. She supports adults and adolescents (above 15 years) to improve their mental health and wellbeing. Joanna works with most psychological conditions and she has particular interest in:

  • Trauma

  • Women’s wellbeing

  • Pre and postnatal mental health

  • Family violence

  • Anxiety

  • Relationship difficulties and separation support

Where appropriate, Joanna considers the sociocultural and systemic factors that may be influencing someone’s situation. She tries to understand a person within their context to make positive changes in their lives. Joanna provides gender and sexuality-inclusive support.
